				This must have been the house of someone significant on the Clumber Park estate: perhaps the estate manager, possibly the head gardener, since it is next door to the walled garden. The plaque on the wall is dated 1892 and the house is now Barker's restaurant - they do an excellent lunch!

				The gatehouse to Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield. The present Endcliffe Hall was built for the Sheffield industrialist, John Brown (known, perhaps, as part of the Firth Brown steel company) by the Sheffield architects Flockton and Abbot. It was completed in 1865. There had been earlier buildings on the site at least back to the 18th century, although the land was in the ownership of John de Elcliffe as long ago as 1333. The gatehouse presumably dates from the 19th century building.
