Very nice, Tom, but it could use a bit more water pressure.
Tom Wilson: I take it you have made a close observation of the little fountain figures? Perhaps low pressure is appropriate smile
How great to see it from this vantage point!
Tom Wilson: Yes, an interesting pov I thought.
Quelle jolie fontaine !
Tom Wilson: C'est vrai, Martine!

Quite a significant feature
Tom Wilson: An object of great interest to the visitors - especially the little boys smile

I like this angle Tom. A pity about the guard rail, but clearly essential. It could have been a more intrusive design so perhaps we should be thankful.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it's quite a modest little rail, more to prevent people from falling in, I suspect.
Most impressive...
Tom Wilson: I'm wondering if it predates the Mannekan Pis in Brussels smile
Ah I remember taking a picture of this saucy fountain!
Tom Wilson: I think you are the only one to spot its sauciness, Bill smile As I said to Larry - I wonder if it pre-dates the Mannekan Pis in Brussels - which is 17th century. I see that it is a restoration and that the original figures were stolen 200 years ago: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/4016601.stm
Quite unusual, Tom, nice P.O.V.
Tom Wilson: Said to be the "sauciest" fountain in the country smile
I like all the postures at the moment.
Tom Wilson: It's almost as though the visitors were deliberately posedsmile
It seems a silly thing to say but I wonder, when fountains like this are built, how it is decided which direction the statue on top will face.
Tom Wilson: Here, they've got them facing both inwards and out, so they probably couldn't make up their minds smile
a beautiful partly sunken fountain Tom... the two boys sitting on the rail are laughing at the cherubs peeing....petersmile
