I picked up a bargain Panasonic TX8 with its Leica lens - this is one of the first pics taken with it. Handling is not as flexible as with my Canons - some settings have to be done through the screen menu, rather than with buttons and wheels, but it is certainly a versatile 'travel zoom' as the category is called.

 

This is the window on the staircase of a house built in 1841.

A fine Victorian Gothic lancet window Tom

the crop makes it look so tall

Nicely lit by the sunlight, Tom. It must be very dramatic when seen from the inside staircase.

Tom Wilson: Thanks, Janet - I'm pretty impressed with the TX8 - picking up a Leica lensed camera for £120 is amazing! I read a review of the Panasonic and Leica equivalent cameras and the overall conclusion was that the only difference was that the Leica images were a little warmer!
Ido like this window, I suspect from the inside there would be some nice colours.
