this is one big tourist boat Tom... three times the size of the bateaux mouches in Paris....petersmile
Tom Wilson: I think they do cruises way up the Douro, so it's more of a cruise ship.

That is a big 'un, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Yes, a cruise ship rather than a tourist boat, I think.
That is huge for a tourist boat! Love the bridge!
Tom Wilson: Yes, I think it is a cruise ship that goes way up the Douro to the vineyards

Ce doit être agréable de faire un tour dessus.
Tom Wilson: Indeed, Martine - I think yoiu can do a two to four day cruise up the Douro on one of these.
A lovely boat indeed Tom!
Tom Wilson: And a big one!

In its own way the boat is as smart in design as the bridge Tom
Tom Wilson: Fits in well in design terms doesn't it?

They say - look at those rich guys in the fancy hotel.

You say - look at all those lucky people having a sundowner cruise.
Tom Wilson: Well, you may be right, apart from the rich guys bit smile
It looks like a floating hell to me Tom but I'm sure the views must be good.
Tom Wilson: Not my idea of fun, Chad.

A brisk scene, Tom
Tom Wilson: A twilight shot, although it may not look like it!
I find these funny looking boats. I understand why they are made with windows to the floor but they do look odd.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it's a cruise vessel - I think the cruise up the Douro is about four days in all.
We're told by friends who've taken a couple of holidays on these boats that are very enjoyable.
Tom Wilson: I can imagine they are - but that's too many people for me smile

I think you might have had a better view than the tourists on the boat.
Tom Wilson: Well, it was certainly a good view, Philine, and the boat came along at the right time smile
A fine vessel...
Tom Wilson: Very smart smile
