A final shot from the museum, showing that the Portuguese will sneak in the tiles anywhere :-)

Que c'est bien fait !
Tom Wilson: Il est en effet!
Isn't this a nice find in the museum...
Tom Wilson: Indeed it was!
And they should - they do it so beautifully!
Tom Wilson: A place to put on your bucket list, Elizabeth smile

They are fine & practical things these tiled effects Tom
Tom Wilson: And the Portuguese have developed into a fine art!
I love azulejos Tom!
Tom Wilson: Me too! You might not have seen this earlier example of mine: http://tomwilson.shutterchance.com/image/2011/04/17/sao-lourenco-church--almancil/
a gorgeous shot, Tom
Tom Wilson: A gorgeous subject, Ayush smile
Indeed they will Tom, the Portuguese and tiles really do go together.
Tom Wilson: They do indeed - very practical, too - help to insulate buildings from the heat.

Ha, it could be the Portuguese sneaking the tile, or the Germans sneaking the machine to Portugal. Agreat shot of this great tile picture. I like the guy proof reading in the light by the window - no electricity smile
Tom Wilson: Actually it is claimed that a Dutchman, Laurens Janszoon Coster, invented moveable type (or re-invented, since the Chinese had done it for their characters long before) and that one of Coster's apprentices wound up with Gutenberg and helped hime to develop his press smile

It is fabulous!
Tom Wilson: Pretty good, eh?
It's definitely got to be defined as a work of art Tom surely.
Tom Wilson: I would think so, Brian.
I have enjoyed the tilework and the printing press museum.
Tom Wilson: Glad you liked it, Mary.
I am intrigued about these Tom, do they paint them afterwards, or before,in the making, either way they are impressive.
Tom Wilson: They are painted, then fired, Frank.
