Religious Art has its own rules and conventions, doesn't it, Tom.
Tom Wilson: It does indeed, Ray - not my favourite genre!
He's quite good isn't he... beautiful!
Tom Wilson: He knew what he was about! smile

Victorian OTT
Tom Wilson: Very much so, Chris and, as Philine says, somewhat kitschy!

Unusual reredos for an Anglican Church, Tom
Tom Wilson: Apparently, Egan planned it this way, even though it obscures part of the window he designed.
I wonder why he gave JC knobbly knees Tom?
Tom Wilson: Perhaps the artist used his own as models? smile
That would make a person feel part of the church, to do both the windows and the painting.
Tom Wilson: He also did all the other windows! So very much embedded!
It is certainly a very attractive screen Tom.
Tom Wilson: He worked with William Morris and I think one sees that.

These church decorations, normally portray sections of Bible text. Not in this particular instance, but sometimes artistic impressions are very true to text in the small detail.
Tom Wilson: This is a very "romantic" presentation, I think.
this is a magnificent piece of art Tom... you framed it very well....petersmile
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Peter.
