Isn't that nice, Tom. Quite contemporary as well.

This must have been sculpted with love; and it looks so modern
Tom Wilson: In praise of the goddess I guess.

Must have been the pharaoh's cat to warrant the sculpture. Looks a lot like Egyptian cats I have seen.
Tom Wilson: Our Abyssinian is said to be descended from Egyptian desert cats like this.
A wonderful piece of art Tom, I like it.
Tom Wilson: Yes, a fine piece of work
From a Pharaoh's tomb?
Tom Wilson: Very probably, Bill - or perhaps from a temple.

A timeless sculpture.
Tom Wilson: It is indeed.
It must be nice to see something that is this old.
Tom Wilson: Old Gulbenkian chose only things of the highest quality!
Worthy of a Saturday.
Tom Wilson: Lovely piece of work, isn't it? It seems to be the lid of a metal box, which I guess could have held ritual objects or a papyrus roll, perhaps associated with the goddess Bastet.
what a magnificent sculpture Tom... it seems that cats haven't evolved over all of these millennium....petersmile
