Ces statuettes sont joliment présentées.
Tom Wilson: Merci, Martine.

You had better send me a bottle of red, Tom, so I can tipple while I look...
Tom Wilson: It'd be a bit late by the time it reached Thailand, Ray! Stick with the local beer smile
What a collection! I love how the animals are displayed!
Tom Wilson: This man is a real magpie - he's got an art gallery full of modern art in Lisbon, and then this lot

It looks to me as if those deer-type figures might actually be headgear judging from the holes in the base. Imagine getting on the number 4 bus wearing one of those!
Tom Wilson: Yes - you are right, there, Chris - getting on the bus would be a problem, unless it was an open-top!
African art is very strange to my eyes
Tom Wilson: I guess most of this stuff is intended for ritual use - and I've no idea about indigenous African religions!

So the tasting was closed?
Tom Wilson: No, the tasting was first, then the tour of the art and the winery and then a chance to buy a few bottles smile
Very stylistic Tom.
Tom Wilson: Typically African, I think - one can see why they influenced European artists when they first began to be brought back from Africa.
Nice of him to leave back a few pieces.
Tom Wilson: I imagine there was quite a trade in creating "genuine" pieces for him smile
Funny how each nation seems to have its own style of art.
Tom Wilson: Often coupled to religion, too, as with these.
wonderful art Tom... thanks for sharing it....petersmile
Somehow the sculpted figures complement the flat painting...
