Tejo Panorama

Through a restaurant window on the Almada side of the river, with the Christ statue on the far left of the picture and the "25th April" bridge just off centre. Built in 1966 with a train platform beneath in 1999. Until the revolution in 1974 it was the "Salazar Bridge".

Heavens I'd completely forgotten about the Portugese revolution. No doubt all is peaceful & calm now. Nice view!
Tom Wilson: With a left-wing government overturning the previous austerity programme and getting people back to work, they're looking better than we are currently, Chris.

You had a fine view from your room, Tom
Tom Wilson: A good way to enjoy a meal smile
I can't believe that they built a bridge to commemorate my birthday Tom.
Tom Wilson: Clearly the Doveton name is renowned in Portugal!
A fine pano Tom
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Bill.
Joli, le pont ressemble un peu à  celui de Brest.
Tom Wilson: Interessant! Merci, Martine!
That is a funny name for a bridge.
Tom Wilson: An important date in Portugal's recent history.
Good shot Tom, the TZ series are good at panoramas.
Tom Wilson: The are indeed, Brian - I know that the Fujifilm is not as easy to use in that mode.

Hope it was not too hot. When the water is still like that over here, you drift along in your own sweat on a summer's day.
Tom Wilson: No - it was early summer - probably 25 or 27 degrees - just nice.
