Magnolia

The Magnolia stellata is a small tree, growing to a max. of about 2.5 metres, so I suspect that this version, in Sheffield Botanical Gardens, is Magnolia loebneri, named after Max Löbner of Pillnitz, Germany, who crossed stellata with Magnolia kobus, to produce a version that grows to about 6 metres - the height of the one shown here.

What a beautiful tree - I've not seen one of those!
Tom Wilson: Possibly the climate in Flagstaff is not right for it?? Although you will find it in Botanical Gardens in New York, California and Missouri smile

It is very difficult to follow the members of shutterchance because there is no possibility of joining a newsletter and also the codes captcha are very painful to manage. That's why I do not pass every day. I'm sorry.
