I am guessing you nearly gave in to the urge to dive in, Tom.
Tom Wilson: The idea didn't come close, Ray smile
Funny how the camera makes the water look busier than it really is (at least to my eyes).
Tom Wilson: Oh it was pretty busy, Larry - it's a big lake - 9 miles long and almost a mile wide - so when the wind gets up, it can be choppy.
Nice, simple shot! Looks like some choppy water!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Elizabeth - yes, the wind was blowing!

Jolie vue sur ce ponton.
Tom Wilson: Merci, Martine.
I sure hope this is at high tide, Tom! You wouldn't want the water to be much higher. smile
Tom Wilson: No tides in the lakes, Ginnie smile The height can vary depending how much rain there's been and how much is flowing in from the feeder streams.

It looks solid enough..
Tom Wilson: Just for small boats, so strong enough, I think.
the really dark colour of the water makes it slightly forbidding, Tom - at least to me.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it does give that impression, Ayush.

Great composition. Simplicity combined with the suggested movement of the water, makes it an excellent picture.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Louis.

Looks a little choppy for a lake, Tom
Tom Wilson: It's a big lake, Lisl - nine miles long, so when the wind gets up there's a lot of water surface for it to play with smile

A fine photograph Tom.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Chad.
SUch a fine image from two simple subjcts. It works for me setting the landing stage at an angle.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Brian.
With our hot summer when I see water I want to dive in. Relief is in store though. Tomorrow it will feel like we are freezing with 18C. The dock has many posts for tying up. It must get busy.
Tom Wilson: I don't think we've had anything much beyond 18c in Sheffield, Mary!
belle composition!! amitiés
Tom Wilson: Merci beaucoup, Jean Pierre!
The water is almost black
Tom Wilson: This was pretty well straight out of camera - I've no idea why it seems so dark!
