when you mention 1913-1939, several questions come to my mind... what material were these wrappers then, how were they produced, especially the coloured prints...
Tom Wilson: Probably the same kind of glossy, colour printed paper we find today, I think - although some of them may have been tins.
What a creative company!!! And what a great display!
Tom Wilson: They must have commissioned quite a lot of art work!

Very interesting Tom, glad someone has had the forethought to collect these
Tom Wilson: I just imagine them digging stuff out of the attics when the family took over again smile
How fun is that!
Tom Wilson: Lovely, aren't they?

What an amazing collection
Tom Wilson: I wonder if Cadbury or Rowntree have anything like it? Of course, they no longer exist as companies, do they? I think this shows that it takes a family firm to keep things going.
They are a delight Tom. Looking at their website they still do beautiful wrappers
Tom Wilson: Pretty good chocolate too smile

Tom Wilson: Merci, Jean Pierre!

Some new designs for Portuguese tiles smile
Tom Wilson: It would certainly be a novelty!
People sometimes collect the most unusual things but all these years later they tell a story of part of the countires history.
Tom Wilson: Indeed they do, Brian.

Such a variety of wrapper designs- and so elegant ones!
Tom Wilson: I thought it was a very unusual and lovely display.
I see more than one with cherry. Nothing is better than cherry and chocolate together.
Tom Wilson: And cherries do seem to be a favourite fruit in Lithuania - with many more varieties than we find!

That is quite the collection. I always love to see things like that. A simple chocolate wrapper...but that is serious designing!!!
Tom Wilson: I imagine their design shop was very busy!
An enjoyable thing to collect, Tom...smile
Tom Wilson: Mmm - it's what's inside that doesn't hang around for too long!

Not the sort of chocolate wrapper that I grew up with Tom.
Tom Wilson: Cadbury's was much less colourful, I seem to recall!
Like a postage stamp collection...
Tom Wilson: Very similar!
Each and every one a work of art
