it's very odd
Tom Wilson: It is, rather, but I like it smile
A photo of this is in our hallway, Tom....smile
Tom Wilson: A more recent one, I imagine smile

Impressive monument (yesterdays post), Tom. I have to say that I like his presentation with the head and the "pieces" of metal.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it's unusual, but I find that it works for me.
Frank is not kidding! smile It's wonderful isn't it!
Tom Wilson: Yes, I think it is a fine piece of work.

That Sibelius had impressive ears, Tom.
Tom Wilson: smile
It has a bit of a Dali feel to it, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Now you mention it...!

A piece of sculpture I cannot easily forget Tom
Tom Wilson: I guess that makes it a good one, Chris.

I cannot think of Sibelius without thinking of the piece, Be still my soul.
Tom Wilson: Yes, his symphonies bounce into mind.
That is impressive, a face appearing out of molten metal
Tom Wilson: Well done, I thought.

U checked the previous posting as well. This is quite a monument.
Tom Wilson: Certainly shows how he is regarded in Finland - the memorial is in the Sibelius Park.
It's rather ugly in design I feel.
Tom Wilson: To each his own, Brian - rather better than much of what passes for "sculpture" these days!
The head is kind of troubling. Perhaps with the rest of the sculpture it makes more sense. You have captured it in lovely light and with fabulous details. Friendship
Tom Wilson: It is rather odd - is the metal supposed to represent molten metal from which the head emerges, I wonder?
I love his face, so well done.
Tom Wilson: Such a change from the main sculpture, by the same artist!

reminded me of Michael Caine although it is not really a strong resemblance, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Curious how these connections happen smile
So serious in repose...
