photoblog image Burton Agnes Hall

Burton Agnes Hall

Just throwing in a more recent pic, in case you get bored with Hollandshire :-)

The exhibition on the third floor of the Hall.  Burton Agnes Hall is still occupied by the latest branch of the family that has been in possession for some centuries - and, as the couple have four kids, not doubt they'll be continuing.  The Hall, however, is now owned by a charitable trust - the only way owners of this kind of property can avoid death duties!

It's twiddled a little, of course :-)

A place worth visiting from the look of it Tom
Tom Wilson: Definitely worth popping in if you are ever nearby - Beverly is the nearest town I think.
When I was a kid Burton Agnes Hall was a locomotive.....
Tom Wilson: Don't recall that one on the LNER. Must have been on a Midlands line, I suppose.

Imagine playing in this hall as a child Tom.
Tom Wilson: Enough space for a rugby match!

i would hate to pay the food bill of a live dog that size, Tom.
Tom Wilson: A Great Dane - probably about two kilos of meat a day smile
I love the contemporary feel here.
Tom Wilson: Basically a country house with an art gallery.
This is on our list of places to go, one day we'll make it I guess.
Tom Wilson: Not too far from you, Brian - probably about two and a quarter hours by car.

Tom Wilson: Thanks, Sherri - I can't remember who the artist was, but they have quite a collection.
Very good Tom, it looks an interesting place.
Tom Wilson: Thanks. Frank.
