Het Loo - stables

Het Loo, at Apeldoorn, was the country residence of the Dutch royal family (think Sandringham, in the case of the British royal family) about an hour by car east of Amsterdam.  It is now owned by the Dutch state.  The former stables are now a museum of the coaches and cars used by the family.  The palace itself is undergoing conservation work and is not open (re-opening is planned for 2019), but the stables and the gardens are open.

This suggests the Dutch Royals have somewhat diminished in status Tom?
Tom Wilson: I don't think so, Chris, I think it was a matter of changing life-styles and the unnecessary second home!

I presume the metal ties are a later edition Tom.
Tom Wilson: You could be right, Chad, although they do look appropriate.
a nice view down this way, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Ayush.
Quite a structure here.
Tom Wilson: And this was just for the horses!
Very fine stable block, the arched roof is lovely.
Tom Wilson: It's enormous!
They must have held their nags in high esteem to build such a structure for them.
Tom Wilson: Indeed they must!
This is a handsome structure Tom and the figures give it scale
Tom Wilson: They obviously looked after their horses smile
