photoblog image Het Loo - the gnome sleigh

Het Loo - the gnome sleigh

Built in 1880 by P. Scheurer & Co. of Dusseldorf, and bought in that year by King Willem III, but used mainly by Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Hendrik for travels about the Het Loo estate in the winter.  As will be obvious, it gets its name from the wooden sculptures of gnomes at the front of the sleigh. It was, of course, horse-drawn.

Tom Wilson: Very!
On dirait le traîneau du Père Noël.
