A bit more elevation, Tom, and you can bring down those awful apartment tower invaders.
Tom Wilson: Yes, hasn't quite got the elevation right at this point smile
I think that they'll need a bigger canon Tom... great POV in this shot....petersmile
Tom Wilson: You are probably right, Peter.
What was it aimed at before that building was there?
Tom Wilson: The Leixões seaport is on the northern edge of the city, so I guess there was probably a mix of port workers and fishermen's low-rise dwellings in the early 20th century - but the city now has more than 160,000 inhabitants.

Juicy indeed: those apartments are full of visitors perhaps or maybe residents with a permanent sea view?
Tom Wilson: Mainly residents, I think, Chris - it's not really a holiday resort - very much a working seaport now.
I like tour angle and POV on this one
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Chantal.
Pls fire Tom, and once you have finished here, come along the Spanish coast with your cannons smile
Tom Wilson: I would if I could, Juan Carlos!
Hope you lit the fuse Tom,spoiling a great view with that monstrosity.
Tom Wilson: Our only hope is concrete rot, I think smile
Light the fuse , Tom! smile
Tom Wilson: My goodness, you are all a bloodthirsty lot! (Although I have to agree with the sentiment!)

Ha ha and who would miss that building anyway.
Tom Wilson: We'd probably only find others like it, behind, Chad :-(
Oh my goodness, Tom, I would be on tenterhooks if I were a tenant in that building. Really like how you've framed this.
Tom Wilson: It's the town planners and architects who ought to feel threatened, Beverly!
...fire! and IMHO the place deserves it Tom.
Tom Wilson: Fortunately, one can always gaze out to sea and ignore what is behind one's back!

Too close for comfort, Tom! sad
Tom Wilson: The cannon or the apartment block, Ginnie?
An image that the Canon camera firm could use.
Tom Wilson: Oh dear, oh dear. We'll have to ban you from SC if you come up with jokes like that, Richard!

Hahahah!! I wish! I suspect any cannon ball would fall short of the target, though.
Tom Wilson: Needs a little more elevation smile I don't know the typical range of those armaments... but checking Wikipedia tells me that a 68 lb naval cannon had an effective range of about 2,700 metres! So I guess that block would be well within that range!
