Prototype

Early prototype for a Swedish version of the "Teasmaid" morning tea-making alarm system :-)

Actually, it some bit of industrial equipment in the Dalsland canal museum - quite what it did, I have no idea and the firm, "Lindholmen" seems to have disappeared. Lindholmen is now simply recorded as an area of Gothenburg where a science park is located.

It is a proto-type, Tom, so probably doesn't do anything!

I expect it was an attempt to create a steam engine. smile
Tom Wilson: I prefer my Teasmaid theory smile
Well - what a curious thing!
Tom Wilson: Isn't it just!
This piece of machinery is a gem Tom!
Tom Wilson: One of a kind, I suspect!

Excellent stuff Tom, this sort of thing always thrills me - unless it is I who have been called out in the early hours to do vital repairs to it..
Tom Wilson: You'd have to have a big spanner with you for this job!
A fine bit of kit whatever it was for
Tom Wilson: There's probably a label somewhere that says what it does - if I'm ever back there, I'll try to find out!
what a great old machine
Tom Wilson: Wonderful, isn't it? It's probably been replaced by a computer chip!
It looks like is is set up for steam.
Tom Wilson: Indeed it does - I suspect it is something to do with the control of the lock gates.
Isn't it wonderful. Like something out of Wallace and Grommet
Tom Wilson: Absolutely, and designed by the Monty Python team!
So this wasn't in your hotel room then Tom?
Tom Wilson: It's not ready for full-scale production yet, Chad - but if you ever make it to Greenland, you'll probably find it in every room smile
