This is a great POV! Frank would have loved to have been there!
Tom Wilson: I hardly knew what I was getting, holding the camera above my head!
We feel like being at the "Tour de France" Tom!
Tom Wilson: I guess all bike races look rather similar smile

They seem a better behaved audience than typically follow Tour D'France, Tom!
Tom Wilson: Well, we are BRITISH, you know, Ray smile

Blimey - Sir Bradley not out in front!
Tom Wilson: Yes, he was just doing the tour as a training run after quite a long lay-off.
Follow the yellow shirt! Follow the yellow shirt! I do like that he sticks out like a sore thumb. smile
Tom Wilson: That's not actually THE yellow shirt - just a team colour (you can see a couple more further back) - the real yellow shirt was a good five minutes in front of this lot and probably still doing 30mph!

I love the bike at the wall (above the red jacket).
Great shot and I see that the audience is kept away, too many accidents happen because people come to close....
Tom Wilson: Painted bikes like that, usually kids' bikes, were all along the route.
I really like this action shot Tom, and especially the people hanging out of the window further down the street. They remind me of Stanley Spencer's painting, Christ carrying the cross through Cookham.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Chad - I don't think anything as exciting had happened in Beverley for centuries smile

I believe my mate, Wiggo, is waiting to pounce.

What I love most about this shot, is the number of cameras recording the platoon. Nowadays, you only see mobile phones.
Tom Wilson: He never did pounce - he was just out for a training run after a long lay-off. And, yes, there were lots of camera buffs around, some with their own step-ladders!
Cycling is hot at the moment
Tom Wilson: It's the season for it smile
I've often thought, in retrospect, I wouldn't have minded doing a bit of cycle racing when I was young, not to this level of course. Good to see some proper cameras in use there, I can't see anybody panning with their tablet!
Tom Wilson: The only bike I had as a lad was a big old secondhand Humber with, believe it or not, hub breaks! It weighed a ton - no racing on that! smile
A fine capture of the event Tom
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Bill - just a case of being in the right place at the right time smile
Great camera holding over your head image!!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Jacquelyn - I had no idea what I was going to get! smile
you framed this very well Tom... what a great line to the back of the peletons....petersmile
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Peter - something of a lucky shot smile
