I think Elizabeth is right!
Tom Wilson: They open out very wide and look like big magnolia stellata.
Magnolias are wonderful it is a shame they only flower briefly
Tom Wilson: The buds on this one were at various stages, so I think we'll have at least a couple of weeks of blossom.
A lovely start Tom! A pity they are so ephemeral.
Tom Wilson: Nice that we can preserve them!
They are beautiful.
Tom Wilson: I thought so when I first saw the tree in the Botanical Gardens. Very delicate.
