Given the appearance of the rocks, one understands why a lighthouse is necessary!

As well as saving lives these things often add something to the scenery
Tom Wilson: A touch of humanity among the harsh realities of Mother Nature smile
Yes, I can see the use of it, Tom, assuming the sea continues with similar rocks!
Tom Wilson: Yup - there's a pile of rocks about 200 metres off-shore
the composition is perfect

Lighthouses are one of my favourite photo-subjects. A fine composition! Some days ago I saw the fim "The lighthouse keeper".
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Philine - the lighthouse keeper seems to be a trade of the past now that the lights are electronically controlled.

Oh isn't that a pretty picture!!! Nice, Tom!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Elizabeth - not so pretty, I guess, when the storms roll in from the Atlantic!
Wonderful structures that inspired excitement in me as a boy Tom.
