How advanced these people were
Tom Wilson: Much more so than we can imagine, I think, Lisl - after all, if you can organize your society to do work like this as well as bring stone from 70kms away to build Newgrange, it must have been quite advanced.
Still shining on Tom
Tom Wilson: That's the thing about gold!
They are rather wonderful and to think they must be over 2500 years old
Tom Wilson: Fantastic, aren't they?

Great shot. Gold in the bronze age - the Irish must have had a good time back then.
Tom Wilson: I think it was a pretty advanced society for its time, Louis.
I had to look up torque as I only knew the word from physics. These torques are very pretty and look very old.
Tom Wilson: These are from about 2000 BC - so about 3,000 years old!
Beautiful items aren't they.
Tom Wilson: They are indeed, Brian - I think those who wore them must have been quite important in their society.
fantastic...
Tom Wilson: Absolutely!
Impressive stuff, Tom..They look kind of Egyptian.
Tom Wilson: I suspect that form followed function, Frank and things that you put round your neck probably look rather similar wherever they are from smile
