Apologies for the lack of comment and response yesterday - I was en route to Sweden.  Now that I am settled in, normal service will be resumed.

Not the most elegant of boids, Tom, but surely one of the smartest.
Tom Wilson: Indeed they are - pretty well all of the crow family are smart birds.
He seems being listening to you Tom!
Tom Wilson: Keeping an eye on me smile

Wonderful clever gregarious birds
Tom Wilson: They are indeed - they aren't seen in the bit of Sweden I'm in, but further south they are numerous.
Like a bird on a wire...... grin
Tom Wilson: Very much like a bird on a wire smile

I like Rooks and other big black birds. He is so confident
Tom Wilson: None of the family seems to lack confidence!
General consensus is that they are smart birds. Rotten singers though
Tom Wilson: Excellent croakers, though smile

They always seem quite sinister to me, Tom.
Tom Wilson: I've seen a 'rooks' parliament' on one occasion - a bunch of them ganging up on one of their kind - very sinister!

On the stiff wire up there
Hunches a wet black rook
Arranging and rearranging its feathers in the rain.
I do not expect a miracle
Or an accident.

Tom Wilson: Thanks for that, Louis!
They have the most powerful looking beaks don't they.
Tom Wilson: They certainly do, don't they!
We do not have rooks here but have ravens. Impressive beak!
Tom Wilson: Not quite as big as the raven, but, yes, that beak is pretty lethal!
Got a good beak on him
Tom Wilson: Hasn't he just!
Was he in one of the Carrion Films.
Tom Wilson: Oh dear, oh dear, kindly leave the stage! smile
