You need a jockey, Tom!
Tom Wilson: Not sure what I'd do with one, Ray - but I'll take your word for it smile
you left us with a great seascape Tom...
cataract surgery is a piece of cake... you come out and you see that everything much more crisp...

just don't lift any heavy objects for about a week...
but you will want to go online to use your new eye....petersmile
Tom Wilson: Well, it's not something I'd do for fun, Peter - but quite straightforward. However, the surgeon told me that my eye is not "strong" and that it will take six to eight weeks before it is fully recovered. Other people I've talked to have been ok in a couple of weeks smile
So Mediterranean Tom!
The best of luck for your surgery. Look after yourself.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Richard - I'm told that full recovery will be slow for my eye because the cornea is rather weak, but we'll see.

A real old fashioned postcard feel to this Tom. Best of luck with the surgery
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Chris - it's a bit achy this morning but I'm hoping it will settle down before too long.

My best wishes for you - I know this op., you will see better than you would ever want!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Philine - it's rather interesting to be fully conscious as the surgeon gets to work! I already see improvement.

I do wish you well, Tom. The results are amazing
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Lisl - yes, vision from my right eye is already vastly improved.
I wish you all the very best today Tom, hope you are back soon in top notch.
Tom Wilson: Apparently I have a "weak cornea" and full recovery is likely to take six to eight weeks instead of the normal two, but the improvement in vision is already obvious.
Lovely Mediterranean scene in the sun Tom. All the best for your operation
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Janet
Most impressive... I hope your surgery went well...
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Larry - yes, everything seems to have gone ok - the first time I've undergone anything under local anaesthetic!
Hope all goes well Tom, I'm having the same operation in the New Year!!!
Tom Wilson: You'll find it quite straightforward, Brian - takes about 20 mins but you'll be there two to three hours in total, having drops in the eye before and then a recovery period after the op. This is a very useful page: http://www.rnib.org.uk/eye-health-eye-conditions-z-eye-conditions/cataracts
this is a great shot, reminds me of the 80s for some reason.
i am sure the procedure will be smooth sailing, Tom
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Ayush - the waves rolling in make it smile

"fully conscious"! -Oh, I was not as courageous as you were, I didn't want to be aware of the operation. I wonder that you are already using your pc, in the first days I was only allowed to watch tv.
