This fine image suggests you have a interest in stuff pointing to the sky, Tom...a sort of Independence Day moment.
Tom Wilson: Is it a bird, is it a plane....?

Is that a lamp? If so it's one of the most ornate I've even seen
Tom Wilson: It is indeed a lamp, Chris - I'm not sure where I shot this from - could be the steps of the Library of Congress, or possibly the Freer Gallery.
Very nicely framed Tom!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Richard.
Very recognisable Tom.
Tom Wilson: Unmistakable, isn't it? Although, come to think of it, quite a lot of state capitol buildings have very similar designs smile
This scanned really well.
Tom Wilson: Yes, the Ektachrome slides have survived well - needed a lot of cleaning up, however! I don't know if the dirt was on the original lens, the film, or had just accumulated on the slide over the past 45 years!
The year I got married....but we went to Spain for our honeymoon
Tom Wilson: A very different setting smile
Also the year I got married Tom. I really like this, the opportunity for this composition couldn't be missed.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Brian - you and Bill are obviously youngsters smile I was married in 1960!
A fine capture of this iconic landmark Tom.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Fred - Washington is full of opportunities smile
Nice juxtaposition...
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Larry.

a wonderful composition of Washingston's iconic highlight! The politicians need more light for acquiring knowledge.
Tom Wilson: What the politicians need is wisdom, Philine, and that is more rare than knowledge smile
superb composition from so long ago Tom... i have never seen the wonderful monument on the right of the capital building....petersmile
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Peter!
Love your POV here, Tom! Ah Washington - I haven't been in so long! Used to go every year, as my Grandfather worked there. Even got to play on the White House lawn with Amy Carter!
