I sense you are enjoying this trip down memory lane, Tom
Tom Wilson: Yes, it's nice to be able to rescue the old slides - otherwise, they'd just lie forgotten - I don't even know if my slide projector would work any longer!
It looks a handsome house Tom
Tom Wilson: The usual view is from the other side - which is rather more impressive: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monticello#/media/File:Thomas_Jefferson%27s_Monticello.JPG

Is this the place where he played the hypocrite extraordinaire, Tom?
Tom Wilson: It is indeed, Ray.
Quite a nice perspective to this beautiful house Tom!
Tom Wilson: The other side is the favoured view and it looks more impressive: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monticello#/media/File:Thomas_Jefferson%27s_Monticello.JPG
Imagine if he had lived a lot longer Tom.
Tom Wilson: He'd probably have another storey on it!
Magnifique maison !
Tom Wilson: Vraiment! Merci, Martine!

One of the oldest residences in America I guess Tom
Tom Wilson: It must be, Chris - fire will have taken a lot of the earlier buildings, I guess.
You've probably seen more than I have, Tom, which seems so strange to me!
Tom Wilson: Well, I worked at the U. of Maryland for a year and travelled a great deal smile

He must have had a restless wife and lots of money, for all those alterations. The Star of David in the gates is quite intriguing.
Tom Wilson: If the gates are original, I'm sure that Jefferson would have known the symbol and would have had some reason for using it!
A lovely looking place.
Tom Wilson: It is indeed - Jefferson certainly knew where to pick his location!
Quite a fine looking house isn't it.
Tom Wilson: It is indeed, Brian - he knew what he wanted and was able to design it!
This is a wonderful composition Tom....petersmile
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Peter.
Ooooh a favorite place of mine.... Lovely image of the entryway!
