A visit to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia - 7/10

Thanks to all for yesterday's good wishes - however, the op didn't happen as the surgeon was not available, and I didn't want to accept his substitute.  So I'm back to waiting :-)

These wooden buildings look interesting, and well kept, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Beautifully maintained, Ray - they probably look better now than they did originally smile
I love these wooden houses Tom!
Tom Wilson: The only building material around at the time, I guess smile
It must be our age, Tom. I apparently have a slow-growing cataract on each of my eyes and wonder long long it will take before I'll need them removed?
Tom Wilson: As soon as possible would be my best guess, Ginnie.

A pity about the op. Tom. The picture has made full use of the person in red
Tom Wilson: Lifts the pic a little, doesn't it? smile
This slide retained it's colour quite well.
Tom Wilson: There's a bit of colour correction involved in the processing, but, by and large, these are pretty much as they were.
I I like the reduced tones of this image Tom, had you done that?
Tom Wilson: No - I think that's the original film, Chad - all I've had to do, most of the time, is tweak the white balance a little.
Looks like a set for Murder she wrotegrin
Tom Wilson: I see what you mean, Bill - one of those New England locations.

Are you sure you are not the British-Irish singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh, who sings Lady in Red? I took a look at present day Williamsburg pictures on the web. The street is still not busy ...
Tom Wilson: I think it gets busy at holiday times, Louis - e.g., we tried to book for Christmas 1970 - and they laughed smile
Lovely old buildings, a walk along there would be most enjoyable.
Tom Wilson: It's a fascinating little town, Brian.

Awful when you get psyched up for an op, and it is called off, Tom
Tom Wilson: Yes, a bit of a nuisance, but there we are - just a matter of waiting for the next slot!

good to see the British spelling of "jeweller"; it still shows the roots of the old Empire there.
Tom Wilson: They take that kind of thing seriously Alan smile
some fine buildings, Tom
