Fine capture Tom. I am on my way to Wikipedia to learn more about these signs.

A new one for me, Tom
Tom Wilson: They were quite popular mementos at the time, List. The fashion may have faded by now!
Fabulous signs, Tom. They'd make up a good coloring book. smile
Tom Wilson: They've probably got one by now, if they are still going!

Mit spitzensparken und poppenkorken, kommt das fest in ordnung.

Pennsylvania 'Deutsch', became 'Dutch' and decorations became hex signs. And then some people start to believe that the decorations actually have 'powers'. Oi veyh, people didn't become less gullible as civilisation marches on.
Tom Wilson: It seems humans need fairy tales about everything from gods to pixies at the bottom of the garden smile

"Home on the range" comes to mind when I look at this. Thanks for the link to the Wikipedia article.
Tom Wilson: It's a bit easterly for the range, I think smile
Humans can't resist painting on things Tom, an interesting article about something of which I knew nowt.
Tom Wilson: We live and learn every day on Shutterchance, Chad smile
I remember when these were popular.
Tom Wilson: I imagine they had their day and have now declined in popularity somewhat!
a photo opportunity that cannot be passed by, Tom
Tom Wilson: Absolutely, Ayush.
So unusual and yet so interesting.
Tom Wilson: Not a British speciality!
A new one on me. People love believing things
Tom Wilson: They do indeed, Bill - and look at the trouble it brings!
Thanks for the link Tom... the signs are beautiful with such a variety of patterns....petersmile
