photoblog image Hippy Fair, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1979

Hippy Fair, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1979

I'm not sure why this was described as a "Hippy Fair" since it was simply an arts and crafts even. Of course, certain substances might also have been available - but not to my knowledge :-)

The slide was better than most - possible something other than Agfa - I just had to remove two rather obtrusive lamp posts :-)

Were you a Hippie in the 1960's, Tom...a Flower Child?
Tom Wilson: I was already a little too old for it, Ray smile
I like how the cyclist is so very concerned....
Tom Wilson: Nice isn't it? I only noticed it when I was doing the conversion!
it's a great composition Tom...
i thought that the Hippies were from the 60's...
and if you remember the 60's... you weren't really there....petersmile
Tom Wilson: I definitely remember the 60s, but not as a hippy - I was already too old for that stuff!
What a lovely image Tom! It reminds me of Madagascar!
Tom Wilson: I can imagine that, Richard.
In that kind of sandy environment, Tom, one could be a hippie their entire life, regardless of the era. smile
Tom Wilson: An altogether pleasant location, Ginnie.

I think you are having many a happy hour, going through and improving on your old slides, Tom
Tom Wilson: When the weather is not conducive to photography, it's a way of keeping things going smile And, of course, nice to revive some of the pics - others are beyond repair!

You removed the lampposts? Now where will the working girls park to entice the hippies? smile
Tom Wilson: I guess they'll have to make do with the palm trees, Louis smile
I like the cyclist looking round to see you Tom, very strange about the hippy fair.
Tom Wilson: Yeah - I only noticed that when I came to do the conversion.
I like the shot with it's waving palms.
Tom Wilson: Not something you'd see on PEI, I guess smile
You misunderstood when they said they had designer pots .......grin
Tom Wilson: You could be right, Bill - my Brazilian Portuguese was, to say the best - rudimentary smile
