The mezzanine floor of the museum had an exhibition of model printing presses created by Américo da Silveira, a master typographer. The collection consisted of about 150 pieces, ranging in size from those shown here (and smaller) to a model of a large newspaper press about a metre long. The introduction to the exhibition noted that: "Esta colecção é o resultado de uma vida, de conhecimento, paciência, rigor e arte". (This collection is the result of a life, of knowledge, patience, rigour and art.) - which seems to sum it up!
