Not much space for the wood. Or is it ornamental?
Tom Wilson: I'm sure it wouldn't be ornamental - given northern winters smile
I don't think this has ever had a fire in it
Tom Wilson: Not recently, certainly - it has all been recently restored, but I guess was in use in the 17th century smile
It seems rather shallow so I wonder if the back has been filled in a bit.
Tom Wilson: Possibly, Brian - but all the fireplaces seemed to be shallow. Perhaps the logs were pile high, but not deep??
