Krakow-St. Adalbert's Church

The 11th century church - the oldest in the town square, I think.

A nice little survivor, possibly rather out of scale with modern Krakow
Tom Wilson: It's certainly tiny, compared with the surroundings.
It does look old, Tom. I hope it was open?
Tom Wilson: Yes, it was open - seems to be used mainly as a concert venue these days.

This looks old and it is amazing it lived that long. Were you able to visit it?
Tom Wilson: Yes, it is generally open - see tomorrow smile

a lovely church with all the rounded 'caps' . I assume that you visited also the interior. I should come back to Krakow. I remember only the cathedral with the Veit Stoß altar.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it is a very fine interior.
I see from your reply to Astrid that we will get a closer look!
Tom Wilson: Well, of one bit of it smile
Copper lasts a long time.
Tom Wilson: And corrodes very prettily smile
A real survivor, Tom. Imagine how many buildings around it have come & gone throughout the centuries.
Tom Wilson: Oh, indeed - lots.

I wonder what the area looked like at the time this church was built.
Tom Wilson: Wooden buildings I imagine, with littles in the way of development.
a nice scene, Tom. i like the colours on the dome and the clear sky.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Ayush
What a delightful little church.
Tom Wilson: It is indeed, very lovely.
