photoblog image Grote Kerk, Haarlem - canon ball

Grote Kerk, Haarlem - canon ball

Lodged in the church wall - inside - during the Eighty Years War against Spain.  I have my doubts about this, as there is nothing to indicate where it came from.  As it is embedded in the inside wall it must first have penetrated the opposite wall, but there's nothing there to record the event :-) Or perhaps it came through a window, since restored?

I ha e seen something similar Tom, but I can’t remember where.
Whatever it makes for a good tourist attraction I guess.
