photoblog image Porto - high key

Porto - high key

Just realised yesterday that I didn't have any more pics to come up!  This is an emergency high key twiddle of the Douro in Porto.

It seems delicate, Tom.
Tom Wilson: That's the high key effect - never used it before, but saw an example on a photographer's site and thought I'd give it a go.
That's quite a bridge! Nice angle for it!
Tom Wilson: Yes, a very fine bridge - carrying the motorway from Porto to Lisbon.

Took me a few moments to orientate myself. I stayed in the hotel, top left. To get to the centre, I walked down the other side of the hill, until I reached the river bank and along the river to the next big bridge - cross that and then I can start walking the centre.
Tom Wilson: Ah - you stayed in Vila Nova - no doubt handy for the port lodges smile

Whaaat!!!

Get out there and take more snaps, and raid the archives too Tom
Tom Wilson: That's what I'll be doing Chris - but rather busy at the moment.
High key is not something I try very often, this works well
Tom Wilson: My first effort: saw an example on a photographer's site and thought it interesting.

No pirizes for guessing where this is Tom. Happy memories.
Tom Wilson: One of my favourite cities - I used to teach there on a couple of visits each year for about 15 years!
Certainly a very fine bridge.
Tom Wilson: It is indeed - the Faculty of Engineering in Porto is probably the best in the country and has produced some notable engineers.
No unassigned bin of a dozen or so shots? For me, it is the only way sometime.
Tom Wilson: I've never got into the habit of using the bin in that fashion - don't know why! My unassigned are all in my Lightroom catalogue smile
