photoblog image Flowering reeds

Flowering reeds

I don't recall seeing reeds in blossom previously - but here's a bed of them, with, I think, a juvenile great crested grebe passing by.

You have forced me to notice something I usually ignore.

I rather like this Tom, reeds make good pictures, especially with a little duck floating through.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Brian.
What a nice shot Tom. Though a still, it has movement.
Tom Wilson: Much appreciated, Frank.
There are several reed grasses and they will all bloom during a season. There are two distinct types here.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Mary - I've seen bullrushes in bloom, but never a reed like this one.
The angles and reflections of the reeds in mid field are great
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Martin
