Antazave manor

As you can see, the manor house, built at the end of the 18th century for Countess Kunigunda Plater (of whom there is a rather odd image here) is currently undergoing a pretty comprehensive renovation.  The building on the left of the picture is a care home, the whole complex is under the control of the local authority.

it looks pretty sound, so it should turn out nice
Tom Wilson: Yes, I've seen other old manor houses in Lithuania and they have been very well restored.
Well it does need a little cosmetic work...
The image of the Countess is a bit odd - but I like that she's smiling!
Tom Wilson: Just a bit of tlc smile The image of the countess looks as though her head is off her shoulders!

It seems there is a serious project started, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Very much so, Ray - they hope, I think, to create an arts and crafts centre and attract tourists.

It looks to be a grand place Tom. Let's hope they've got bottomless pockets..
Tom Wilson: They certainly are going to need a stack of cash!
Nothing like a good renovation, Tom, to spruce things up.
Tom Wilson: It is certainly needed!

By the look of this, Tom, they do a very thoroughly job and they take things seriously. I would love to the the "after" in a few years....
Tom Wilson: Lithuanian craftsmen seem to be first class, Astrid - I'm sure they'll do an excellent job.

Hopefully the restoration will be of top quality. I like the elaborate head gear of that lady.
Tom Wilson: They generally do a very good job.
this looks like a lot of work but i am convinced the end results will be well worth it, Tom.
Tom Wilson: I'm sure they'll do a good job, Ayush.
It looks like they have procured authentically old wood to use.
Tom Wilson: Either that or that's the wood they've taken out!
The whole building looks in need of restoration.
Tom Wilson: That's an understatement, Brian. smile
The Princess looks as it her head has been photoshopped onto a cartoon body.

I bet this place will look fantastic when fully renovated
Tom Wilson: Yes, indeed - her head seems disconnected! It's a fine building and I'm sure they'll do an excellent job. Perhaps I'll get an opportunity to see it again when it is finished.

After viewing the picture of the Gräfin, I came to the conclusion that if you have the money to build such a house, it doesn't matter whether you are have you head on your shoulders.
Tom Wilson: smile Yes, weird isn't it!?
Looks comprehensive, as you say Tom!
Tom Wilson: It's going to keep the local craftsmen busy for a while!
