I am feeling like a Peeping Tom, Tom, and thinking this could be a fun occupation! smile
Tom Wilson: smile smile
J'avais raison, les pierres sont là  pour chauffer le sol.
Tom Wilson: Eh bien, toute la zone est chauffée par la circulation de l'air chaud.
Looks like it could be a modern spa!
Tom Wilson: The Romans got to the spa idea a long time before we did!
The under floor heating was a thing of wonder Tom.
Tom Wilson: It was indeed - must have needed a huge supply of wood to fuel it.

And we continue to have a Spa in Bath, Tom - perhaps you visited it?
Tom Wilson: I knew of the spa, but didn't visit it - I imagine it must be quite well used.
LOL at Ray. It's a pleasant change from the typical male version, I'd say?
Tom Wilson: You could be right!

The Romans were just so CIVILISED..
Tom Wilson: In some areas - in others, like crucifying robbers, they were pretty uncivilised!

It is just amazing what kond of civilization they had and that at one time it all went away for some reason.
Great series, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Collapse of the Roman Empire - as usual, the politicians and others trying to grasp power, fouled things up!

“Yes I did call you. Have you seen my clothes, I think some prankster has stolen them”.

Actually a clever use of modern technology to show how it might have appeared at the baths.
Tom Wilson: Yes, I thought these presentations projected on to the surroundings were pretty impressive. They give a real feel for how things might have been.
An interesting picture Tom, it could so easily be from today smile
Tom Wilson: Indeed it could!

It is only the 3 women with period clothes that makes it look like long ago. The rest look the same as today - except (maybe) the underfloor heating. smile
Tom Wilson: Yes, I don't know how many modern spas will have underfloor heating!
They certainly knew how to look after themselves back in those days.
Tom Wilson: If you were of the ruling class of course - much like today, in fact smile
Seems a bit contrived to me in the casualness of some poses.
Tom Wilson: Yes, difficult to be entirely naturalistic I guess.
