Wow Tom ! What a sight this is, and must have been to see in person.
Tom Wilson: It was quite amazing - I had never realised that the Falls froze like this.
It makes me cold just looking at it! Terrific shot!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Elizabeth.

A wonderfully dramatic image Tom. I wonder if it ever completely freezes up?
Tom Wilson: "Does Niagara Falls ever really freeze over? The answer is yes. During an extended winter cold snap, a hardened crust of ice can accumulate over parts of the falls (the American Falls in particular), creating an amazing, naturally-formed ice sculpture that has been known to reach a thickness of 50 feet." But the water continues to flow beneath the ice smile
That is quite a sight Tom
Tom Wilson: Indeed it is, Bill - most people visit in the summer, of course, but it seems to me that late winter is probably the best time smile

Impressive. I’ve not seen it like this. My visit was in summer and we ventured on the Maid of the Mist boat.
Tom Wilson: I think that in mid-winter that mist just freezes in the air!

I have seen this awesome site, but not in winter...love it, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Quite striking at this season!
It must look really great when its frozen like this.
Tom Wilson: Truly astonishing, Brian.
I have seen them only in summer with hundreds of tourists.
Tom Wilson: Try it in late March smile
