photoblog image I'm on the train

I'm on the train

I'm presenting this one to celebrate getting back to the UK on Thursday night - after almost 20 hours on a bus from Madrid to Calais, ferry to Dover, train to London, then, finally, train to Sheffield - arriving home at about 18.30. In all, it was about 32 hours of virtually continuous travel - not to be recommended. I never want to ride a bus ever again :-) Others had travelled further - I bumped into a friend in Calais who had been on a bus from Venice and a couple on the bus had travelled from the Falklands via Chile - 23,000 miles! Madrid was a close as they could get to the UK.

This was taken through the window of that 15:20 from St. Pancras.

There may be books written and movies made about the epic trips brought on by behaviour of the selfish volcano, Tom.

You have made a start...

You've have to get to it, Tom! All this flying is damaging to the environment. Greenhouse gases and all that nonsense! Trains and buses far less harmful.. what's wrong with walking, too!

(Written from Glasgow Airport waiting for my flight home!!).

I can only imagine who badly you must have felt. Thanks for taking and sharing this image and the story.
I'm going to be a bloody picky Northerner here: that little white bit at the top left is annoying: clone it out! smile
