this place still has a robust and unshakable feel to it, Tom.
Tom Wilson: Yes, it was deliberately destroyed by removing the timbers and lead from the roofs.
A great view Tom.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Frank.
You got some great light and detail! Wonderful!
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Elizabeth
Jolies ruines, on devine que c'était très grand.
Tom Wilson: Merci, Martine.

How thick those walls are, considering the age of the place..
Tom Wilson: They are indeed - it was effectively destroyed after the Cromwellian Civil War by removing the timbers and lead from the roof.
One can only imagine what life was like back then, Tom! Great view, indeed.
Tom Wilson: Pretty hard, one imagines, Ginnie - unless, of course, you were among the rich! Nothing changes!

This must have been a fabulous view in the "glorious" days back then, Tom. This is already a fabulous view.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Astrid - yes - I'll be showing some views from the castle.

a magnificent castle I saw from afar. It must have been a great experience to walk around here.
Tom Wilson: All of the Welsh castles are quite outstanding.

A fine composition Tom.
Tom Wilson: Thanks, Chad.
What an experience, Tom!
Tom Wilson: It's quite something to walk on the walls where the guards walked centuries ago!

I can now see it is not so small. Someone, sometime said that cameras don't lie...
Tom Wilson: They've been lying from the start smile I saw an article recently which showed that a standard photo of Lincoln was, in fact, a combination of Lincoln's head on someone else's body!
I can imagibne life would have been quite comfortable from the hoi polloi but for the poor old foot soldiers not quite so.
Tom Wilson: It's the rich what get the pleasures, Brian - as ever!
Built to last! It's quite a complex, Tom........good POV smile
Tom Wilson: It is indeed - a pity that they haven't tried to restore one of the smaller interior rooms - it would be very interesting to see how they lived.
