Conwy pigeon

Nesting on one of the steps leading up to the top of a tower. Quite oblivious to the pedestrian traffic going up and down!

That does not look like a comfortable perch!
Tom Wilson: Well, their other name is Rock Dove - they're used to nesting on cliffs, so I guess steps are just about the same smile

How bizarre is this level of trust in human beings Tom..
Tom Wilson: Quite amazing!
So well adapted to urban life
Tom Wilson: Probably the best adapted of all birds!
I don't mind a few of these about but not the hoards that seem to gather in city centres etc.
Tom Wilson: They can be a pest!
I like pigeons very much.
Tom Wilson: But, as Brian says - not too many of them!
I have noticed that pigeons are not very strategic in their nesting locations... I saw one on a beam from a building to it's garage - and sadly an egg had rolled off....
Tom Wilson: I suspect that's a common problem for these birds - what they have can hardly be called a nest!
